Happiness 2/2/14

After I read these two articles I realize that they both talk about how happy you can be in life. Some people are happy in different ways. People think they can be happy from buying special things that they think mean a lot to them but in the long run they don't even remember what they bought a week ago, the only reason they bought that item right there was so they could feel happy. Another example is from the article The Futile Pursuit of Happiness we all predict what is going to make us happy in the future, though we are usually wrong. No one can predict what is going to make them happy in the future. If they try that then they are going to be disappointed when something doesn't go the way they predicted it. You can never assume when your going to be happy in life it will come to you when the time is right.

  1. After reading the Futile Pursuit of Happiness, I was very surprised to see that as humans we are so bad at predicting our reactions to certain events. Your last statement is very true though. Happiness and good things do come to you when you need it and when the time is right. Assumptions only lead to disappointment. That was very prevalent for both articles, that materialistic acquisitions do not lead to happiness.
