Serial Killers

I think serial killers are bad celebrities they get all the attention for doing really bad stuff in there life. I fee like they are trying to reward these bad people. by putting them out in the public and also in all of these movies and heck they even made a museum for these bad people. I think it is insanely wrong to do this, they might think they are teaching someone something but I don't think they are. The stuff they do is nothing to be proud of any certain way. Stop giving them this sort of attention. It isn't right for the good people out there doing all the good stuff in life and they don't get recognized for it. That is just wrong in so many ways. I think wee should be making movies and museums for all the good people out there and not the bad ones.

Accidental Racist

In the song "Accidental Racist" Brad Paisley is pretty much saying sorry for being so mean towards African Americans in the past, he wants to see past it and be able to be friends and do things with the African American Race. They aren't all bad but we sometimes all think they are. LL Cool J is just trying to come up with all the bad things we say and look at with the African American race. Most of the things he said were out of this world ridiculous. I liked the song it made me realize how us Americans are to other races. It had it's good and bad parts.

Disneyland and Walt Disney World

I think every American Citizen should go see the wills tower in Chicago because that is the world biggest tower, there is also a lot of history behind it. I think another pace everyone should go if the want to make themselves feel like an effective American citizen is to the capital of the united states in Washington DC. I think those would be great places to go if you wanted to feel like a effective American citizen. Those might not be the happiest and most exciting places in America but they are very historic and memorable to us as Americans.

Alissa Quart sees the teen approach of being cool in a whole different perception. Alissa looks as it as that teenagers have disposal income- we have a lot of money in high school because we don't have to pay for anything then. We think we are cool when we go out and buy everything but in the future we wont have any money control. She also thinks that advertising causes brand loyalty. Klosterman just thinks kids are ocky and that's why we think we are cool

TV Violenece

In the Reading Tv Violence by Chuck Klosterman he thinks most people that watch violent acts or are anywhere around them, then they are the ones that are going to be the bad ones out in this world. in the video The Mean World Syndrome George Gerbner decided that after he got out of the army that he was going to be a Media Scholar. He did a lot of research he discovered that by the end of elementary school a kid would see 8,000 murders and 20,000 acts of violence by the age of 18. That is what the two differences of the two are. The thing they do have in common is that they both talk about violence and they both have interesting facts going on.

In the Video Mean World Syndrome started in the United States. George Gerbner explained that he was unlisted in the US Army and after that he turned into a media Scholar. He had exposure to the media events it started to affect him, he figured out that 8,000 murders are seen before you are out of elementary school. 20,000 different violent acts are seen on tv and from the media by the time you are 18 years old. They thought violence was meant to tell a story, instead it gave kids nervous disorders. We all very intrigued in the media! In the reading from this week from Chuck Klosterman he says that people think that if they are going to watch violent stuff then their the ones that are going to become violent and be the bad people in life. The APA controls people mental health and makes sure there okay. this is the difference between the readings and the video we watched

Football High Video

In the video Football High that was taking on April 12,2011 There were boys being hospitalized because of heat strokes and that lead to renal failure and one boy from a state down south passed away because the coaches think it is alright to practice in temps like 102 degrees out, that is crazy and a little out of hand. Tyler's body temperature was higher than the outside temperature. His temp when he go to the hospital was 108 degrees. Not only are there kids having heat strokes during the raging heat, there is also 60,000 concussions a year in the sport of football, that leads to brain damage and dementia. There is a disease they have figured out and it is called CTE disease and that is when your brain tissue just wears away,  which has a side effect of depression, suicide, and also dementia. With all of that there is also football is more intense and they practice more than colleges. I thought that was just crazy. I know it is a dedicated sport but, that is insane. The high school boys are playing the sport because they love it not to be pushed till they cant be pushed anymore.

From all this information I have gathered from this video this sport is for sure a Intimidation Culture. The boys were huge and would kill other teams just to win a game, there would be boys walking off the field with broken bones and anything else you could think of. The idea of this sport is to always win never lose or if you lose to many times the coach can even get fired from not being a successful football coach. When the boys were younger they could always play for fun but now it is you when or it is almost the end of the world. These are my thoughts about how I feel and how Chuck Klosterman would have felt

Advertising

The main focus in this advertisement is the perfume called "heated". what comes to me with this advertisement  is that BeyoncĂ© is dressed to look "heated" so that calls for her to dress all sexy and barley have any clothes on, her hair all blown back like she has a fan on it. Everything is just perfect in this picture just for the perfume heated.

Sex Symbol

Marylin Monroe and Pam Anderson were the sex symbol for America in the 1990, because of how they acted and how they dressed, they made themselves look pretty fake. They were also known for having a ton of husbands in a short period of time. I think the new sex symbol today would have to be Miranda Lambert, the reason I think that is because she is a beautiful lady even though she is bigger. in one of her songs she talks about how any girl is beautiful in there won way. I think that is more what this world is coming down to rather than in the 90s where they were all worried about how good  they were and who they could impress.

Millennium

We have our good and our bad things that have happened in this millennium. The good things that have happened is technology is the biggest thing that has impacted us. It teaches us a lot and there are so many different types from a computer, laptop, I pod, even I phones. I think it is it pretty awesome how we can use most of those devices where ever we would like, we don't just have to be in one spot. The bad thing from all of this technology is that there is no interaction with humans anymore. For example when I walk into a classroom all you see is kids on there phones. Either on Facebook, instagram, twitter, or maybe just texting. That use to be how people made friends was by socializing.

Happiness 2/2/14

After I read these two articles I realize that they both talk about how happy you can be in life. Some people are happy in different ways. People think they can be happy from buying special things that they think mean a lot to them but in the long run they don't even remember what they bought a week ago, the only reason they bought that item right there was so they could feel happy. Another example is from the article The Futile Pursuit of Happiness we all predict what is going to make us happy in the future, though we are usually wrong. No one can predict what is going to make them happy in the future. If they try that then they are going to be disappointed when something doesn't go the way they predicted it. You can never assume when your going to be happy in life it will come to you when the time is right.
